Oh, Mando! Why We Need a Second Season

“Oh, Mando!” is a first-class Filipino (Pinoy) boys’ love (BL) series. It’s a romantic comedy series with metaphorical fantasy elements in dream sequences. The series premiered on iWantTFC on November 5, 2020.

Plot and Characters

The plot revolves around Mando, a charming yet timid college student who believes in the romantic idea of love. He reaches a crossroads when he has to choose between his present relationship and his past love interest. The main characters, Mando, Barry, and Krisha, have good character background, depth, and development.

Mando is in denial of being gay primarily because he blamed himself for his mother leaving him and his father for a lesbian lover. Barry, Mando’s schoolboy crush, is bisexual/fluid and has a complicated relationship with his sister Krisha, who is in love with Mando.

Production and Reception

The series is directed by Eduardo Roy Jr. and produced by Dreamscape Entertainment together with Found Films. The production value is pretty high with authentic settings and technically solid camera shots. The series has been praised for its exceptional plot/storyline, superb performance, and wonderful production.

Why We Need a Second Season

“Oh, Mando!” has left a significant impact on its viewers. Its unique blend of romance, comedy, and drama, coupled with its exploration of real-life issues like family relations, gender identities, sexual orientations, and even suicidal tendencies, has resonated with many1.

A second season would allow us to delve deeper into the lives of Mando, Barry, and Krisha. It would give us the opportunity to see how their relationships evolve and how they navigate the complexities of their lives. Furthermore, it would continue to shed light on important societal issues, contributing to the ongoing conversations about sexuality and identity.

“Oh, Mando!” is a series that deserves another season. Its compelling storyline, relatable characters, and high production value have made it a standout in the BL series universe. Here’s hoping that the creators will consider giving us more of this wonderful series.
